October 1, 1977: How it all started
On October 1, 1977, Metzen van der Sluis founded the HMS company. This wasn't easy. With his hard-earned savings, he bought his first machine, with all the risks involved. He renovated this and managed to sell it. This is how the Trading Company Metzen van der Sluis was born. His many years of experience as a (main) cable works operator combined advice and sales.

In 1995, Tom, Metzen's youngest son, also came to work within the organization where he gained a lot of product knowledge. The three musketeers turned the family business into a successful and healthy enterprise.
